The Challenge
A Pune residential developer completed the sales launch of their flagship 3 BHK project. The sample flat — furnished with a full 3 BHK furniture set valued at approximately ₹18 lakhs — was ready to be decommissioned as the project moved into construction. Rather than write off the furniture or sell it at a loss, the developer wanted to preserve it for the next project launch, which was 8 months away. They also had a CREDAI exhibition booth (6 panel sets plus furniture) sitting in their Pune office after the previous property fair — taking up an entire conference room with no fair bookings for the next 4 months. Both assets needed to move out before the developer's year-end facilities audit.
The Solution
SafeStorage inducted the full 3 BHK furniture set (380 cft) and the CREDAI exhibition booth in a single visit to the developer's project site and office. Every piece of furniture was photographed and tagged at item level. The exhibition booth panels were barcoded by panel number. The developer received a full photo inventory within 24 hours. During the 8-month storage period, the developer activated two pop-up show flats at new project sites — in both cases requesting specific furniture items from the stored 3 BHK set, which SafeStorage delivered to the new sites within 24 hours. When the Pune Property Expo was confirmed with 24-hour notice, SafeStorage pre-packed and dispatched the full CREDAI booth to the venue. After the expo, all booth materials were collected and reinducted.
The Result
The developer retained ₹18 lakhs of sample flat furniture that would otherwise have been written off or sold below value. The conference room was cleared for the year-end audit. The two pop-up show flat activations were completed without any furniture procurement — a saving of approximately ₹4–5 lakhs per activation. The CREDAI booth dispatch to the Pune Property Expo was completed with 24-hour notice — a logistics feat that would have been impossible without pre-positioned, barcoded storage. All storage costs were invoiced on GST-compliant bills, which the developer's finance team processed under project marketing expenses.
