The Challenge
A Hyderabad-based electronics accessories seller on Amazon and Flipkart faced a post-Diwali crisis. Over 800 SKUs of returned and new inventory were mixed together in a rented godown with no barcoding or SKU segregation. Returns from the Diwali sale — damaged, repackaged, and sellable units all mixed — were sitting alongside fresh stock. The seller could not identify which returns were sellable, which were damaged, and was failing to claim ITC because the godown operator issued only cash receipts. Two marketplace performance warnings had already been issued for incorrect fulfilment of orders due to inventory confusion.
The Solution
SafeStorage inducted all 800 SKUs over two days. On day one, the returns were separated from new inventory — each return photographed, condition-graded (sellable/damaged/repackageable), and barcoded into the returns bay. On day two, new inventory was barcoded by SKU and organised into pick locations. The seller received a full digital inventory with condition notes and SKU mapping within 24 hours of induction. For the following quarter's peak, same-day dispatch requests were submitted via the portal and fulfilled by 2 PM the same day for in-city orders. The GST invoices issued by SafeStorage were submitted as part of the seller's quarterly ITC claim.
The Result
The two marketplace performance warnings were cleared within 30 days. The seller recovered ₹1.8 lakh in ITC in the following quarter — entirely from SafeStorage's GST invoices. Sellable returns were reintroduced to live stock within 5 days, reducing write-offs by an estimated 40%. The seller has since expanded storage volume by 3x and uses SafeStorage as their primary fulfilment hub for Hyderabad orders.
